That’s the difference!
Raw material mixture The material mixture of TEWE® PP R straps contains virgin material plus both recycled polypropylene (rPP) waste streams: post-consumer (PCR) and post-industrial (PIR) resin. |
- Virgin PP material
Virgin PP is new resin produced by using natural gas or crude oil. - Post consumer resin
PCR is short for post-consumer recycled or resin. The material derives from discarded PP materials originated from households, commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. This means the material have served their original purpose already and gain a second life. - Post industrial resin
PIR is an abbreviation for post industrial recycled or resin and is generated by the industry during the industrial production process as waste. PIR is material that was never part of a consumer product sold on the market.
